About
Straight answers first, then a local plumber
A plumbing problem rarely waits for research. Sioux Falls Plumbing Pros exists to put the things you need up front: what to do in the first few minutes, what common jobs cost, what the City of Sioux Falls and the State of South Dakota require, and how to check that a plumber is licensed. Then it connects you with an independent local plumber.
What we are
A referral service, not a plumbing company. We do not do plumbing work and we do not employ plumbers. The independent, third-party plumbers we connect you with work under their own name, license, insurance and prices. Before you hire anyone we send you, or anyone else, ask for proof of insurance and check the plumber's license with the South Dakota State Plumbing Commission. How matching works explains the service step by step, including how we are paid.
How the information on this site is sourced
- Rules come from the agency that sets them, read as the raw document Every permit, licensing and inspection statement on this site was read from the City of Sioux Falls's own pages and PDF guide, the State Plumbing Commission's pages, or the statute text on the Legislature's site. Not from a blog, a directory or an AI summary. Each page lists what it read and the date.
- Prices come from one dated list Every dollar figure on every page is drawn from a single source file, so each job carries one range everywhere it appears. Each figure names its source and the date it was read (November 6, 2026); the whole list is due for a recheck by 2027-05-06. The ranges are national, because no Sioux Falls plumber publishes a price list.
- Companies are described from their own websites only The how-to-choose page names eight Sioux Falls-area plumbing businesses in alphabetical order, described only from what each says on its own site. No ratings, no review counts, no phone numbers, no paid placement, and we say we haven't verified their claims.
- Open questions stay open Where a question can't be closed from a primary source, the page says so and points you to the office that can answer, rather than guessing.
What was read, and what wasn't
For the rules pages we read, in full, on November 6, 2026: the City of Sioux Falls Building Permit FAQs; the City's Plumbing Homeowner's Guide (form 2C25018, dated January 12, 2026); the City's Master Plumber Contractor licensing page and its Currently Licensed Contractors page; the South Dakota State Plumbing Commission's licensing, consumer-information and homeowner-plumbing pages and its list of licensed plumbers; and South Dakota Codified Law §§ 36-25-17 and 36-25-19 (plumbing licenses) and § 23A-35A-20 (call recording), from the Legislature's official site.
We have not read the Sioux Falls Code of Ordinances chapter on plumbing (the ordinance behind the City's guide), a City plumbing permit fee schedule, any City guidance on frozen water lines, the City's rule on where a homeowner's responsibility for a sewer service line ends, or the permit programs of Brandon, Harrisburg, Tea, Hartford, Dell Rapids or Crooks. No page on this site states a rule or a fee for any of those; the service-area page and the permits page say which office to call instead.

What this site is not
Not a plumbing company, not a contractor, not an engineer, not a law firm, and not an insurer. Our guides are general information to help you act safely in the first minutes, judge a quote and ask the right questions; the plumber who looks at your house prices the job, the City or the State Plumbing Commission has the last word on permits and licenses, and if you are unsure whether something is safe to try yourself, stop and call a licensed plumber.
Contact and legal
No street address is listed because Sioux Falls Plumbing Pros is a referral service with no shop, trucks or crew; the operating company is named in the privacy policy and terms. What to have ready when quote requests open is on the contact page.
